Wizard101 was launched on this day, September 2, 2008. After 13 years, the all ages MMORPG still has magic to offer after years of steady development and new content. To celebrate Wizard101's anniversary, KingsIsle and Gamigo have lined up a series of events and special access.
To start, all of the Wizards that log in for the event between September 2nd through the 8th will be able to enjoy free access to (almost) all of Wizard City and Krokotopia. Whether you’re new or returning after a while, no membership or purchase will be required to explore the zones during the event week. The only exceptions are Kembaalung and House of Scales dungeons in Krokotopia.
There will also be giveaways and special birthday items available through the entire month of September. Some of these birthday items will be available to all, like the Birthday Box Mount and Candle Staff, while others will be available to older accounts, like the Celebration Staff, which you’ll need a 10 year old account or older to get. Other special birthday items will include special pets like Party Corgi, Birthday Party Cake, and Decade Firecat.
For those who do have paid memberships, there will be all kinds of bonuses throughout September on training, several ongoing opportunities for extra XP, double crafting, double pet XP, along with daily prizes and extra rewarding PVP dailies. This event will include a fishing tournament from Sept 10-12 with even more giveaways..
After 13 years, Wizard101 is still going strong, and new developments like more PVP options, are on the way.
