Stars Reach has soared past their initial expectations, securing over $614,000, surpassing their initial $200,000 Kickstarter goal by more than 300%. With just three days remaining and over 4,200 dedicated backers, the team is now transitioning Kickstarter pledges directly onto their official website, a strategic move aimed at demonstrating sustained community enthusiasm to potential investors.
Alongside the funding shift, which seems to only have the higher Kickstarter tiers listed, Stars Reach has opened an online merchandise store. In the Galactic Bodega, Playable Worlds is featuring items designed to immerse fans into its universe with a host of branded items. Fans can choose from a number of wearable items, with official gear such as the $28 logo hat, a $50 blue hoodie. There's also a hexagon sling pack avaialble alongside beanies and tees.
This pivot towards website pledges and merchandise sales is part of Stars Reach's broader vision, as the team has stated that they've been hoping to showcase robust player engagement and community backing, which will be essential ingredients in attracting further investment from potential partners. WIth funding all but secured, it seems we'll be seeing Early Access for Stars Reach in a matter of months according to the team's expectations.
