Wintersday is back in Guild Wars 2 to cap off a big year full of change. The event is open to all levels and you can celebrate in and around various areas of Tyria.
Divinity’s Reach is the event hub, where from now through January 2nd, you’ll find all things holiday cheer. Look out for decorations, activities, and of course, lots of opportunities for gifts. This year’s new items include the Mini Plush Cuckoo, Wintersday guild hall decorations, and new and returning recipes, tonics, and other goods. To get your hands on some gifts, participate in the lineup of minigames and events to earn festival currencies like snowflakes, snow diamonds, and karma.
Head to the Wizard’s Vault for objectives to get you to some activities to take part in and start having fun and earning goodies. As GW2 events often are, this one is packed with activities, so there’s something for everyone.
Toypocalypse is the defend the gift dolyaks on their journey in this tower defense-inspired minigame mode. Work with up to four other players to get the dolyaks safe passage. Tixx’s Infinirarium sees you helping Toymaker Tixx to fix malfunctioning toy factory equipment in a group of five. Mount racing is back, this time in a race around Divinity’s Reach on your own mount or a rental. Snowball Mayhem is what happens when you combine snowball fights with capture the flat mechanics. The first to bring enough gifts back to base wins. There’s even a Strike Mission, Secret Lair of the Snowmen. And if you’re feeling charitable,take part in the Donation Drive to use items you earn and turn them into Wrapped Gifts. Give them to local orphans for karma.
Complete the Wintersday achievements you'll also get a choice of weapons from the Sacred Solstice collection and a Winter Fur shoulders skin. Ornamented staff, shield, and focus are weapons available by opening up Wintersday gifts (or from vendors).
