According to a new article in Korean publication, Money Today Broadcasting, Amazon Games and NCSoft might be working on a publishing deal for the upcoming release Throne and Liberty in North America and Europe.

Previously known under codename TL, Throne and Liberty has been under development since 2017, initially as a Lineage followup. The game  was formally announced back in March. In April, the game was also confirmed by a different South Korean publication, Inven,  to be heading to PS5 along with PC and was looking at a Q4 release window. There has been little since, and as we head deeper into August, a publishing announcement might be coming, especially if Q4 is still the target.

According to Money Today, (via Google Translate):

“On the 9th, a source familiar with the situation between NC and Amazon, citing internal officials from both companies, said, "NC and Amazon are in discussions for a global distribution business alliance for 'TL'." However, the possibility of collaboration is high.”

With regards to potential timelines, with a priority focus on the Korean market, NCSoft may be considering a December release, but should a global publishing deal happen with Amazon, we should expect a slight delay in North America and Europe to bring it together. NCSoft has been reportedly conducting internal testing  and refused to comment to Money Today on any of this speculation.

Given the deal to publish Lost Ark, it seems to follow that any publishing deal will go through Steam through any Amazon deal.

Back in April, NCSoft said that we should expect something over the summer about a release schedule, and with both Gamescom late this month and Tokyo Game Show coming, there are some major potential platforms to make announcements.
