A new post has cropped up on the World of Warcraft Reddit that seems to indicate that something is in the works for Warcraft 3. Several former professional Warcraft 3 players and current streamers are seeking visas to come to the United States from Russia and the Ukraine. Players named "Happy" and "Hawk" have been streaming from Serbia where they are working with US officials to obtain a visa as quickly as possible.
According to the Reddit post, the meeting at Blizzard is a "secret" event that will take place at the end of February at Blizzard HQ. "You'll have to take my word for it, but these two have nothing to do in the US unless it's WCe-related" wrote Parasect_exe on Reddit.
Parasect_exe further commented that it is unlikely to simply be a tournament as "Happy" refuses to play LAN tournaments and that tournaments are rarely kept secret.
Russian player "Happy" further elaborated: "I cannot disclose the details yet, but I was allowed to hint around. At the end of the month, there will be a certain event (offline). What will happen there is still a mystery. Since it will take place in the USA, I have to work on the visa."
While it's exciting to speculate that this could surround a Warcraft 3 Remastered version, it's equally possible it is to announce a mobile version or a new update to the game.
We'll have to wait and see!
