The developers of Wayfinder have soft launched their Eventide update in hopes that the players would come across any game destroying bugs before the full release.
It’s worth noting that this will be the first patch to go live since the developers of Warframe, Digital Extremes, handed the game off to Airship Syndicate completely. After laying off over 30 employees that mostly handled the support of Wayfinder, Digital Extremes announced they did so in order to focus on internal development of games rather than the external ones.
Since the Eventide update has only been soft launched, the actual Eventide Event is not yet in-game, but there are plenty of things for players to enjoy as they test the waters for Airship Syndicate. There is a new seasonal Hunt, an expansive quest chain, and a limited time Lost Zone for players to tackle with a brand new mini-boss. On top of that, there are exclusive cosmetics and housing items that embody holiday cheer.
The update also brings an overhaul to all of the games files and assets, as well as shaders compiling when you run the game for the first time. This recompiling may or may not reduce the overall performance of the game for a few moments, according to the developers. It has also been mentioned that the games install and download may take a bit longer than they did previously, most likely due to the repackaging of their files.
Airship Syndicate mentioned that in the coming days they have an even bigger announcement in terms of content drops that is currently in active development.
