Wayfinder Adds Hardcore Mode With Exclusive Loot and Launches on Xbox

Wayfinder got a big new update, Hardcore mode, and just launched on Xbox.

Airship Syndicate’s action RPG, with optional co-op multiplayer, hit Xbox after having been available on PC and PlayStation. The release is optimized for Xbox Series X|S and it’s available with a launch discount. You can play solo, or opt for multiplayer if you are a Game Pass subscriber.

The latest Wayfinder update arrived alongside the Xbox release and while there are a number of fixes and updates, the most notable part of the update is the addition of Hardcore mode. If you've ever wanted to test your skills and your luck in Wayfinder’s flashy, fast-paced world of Evenor, here’s your chance.

When you start a new save, you now have the option of choosing Hardcore Mode on, and it seems limited to Heroic and Nightmare difficulties. This makes sense, given the degree of challenge that you're signing up for if you leave this mode on. You're only allowed to use each Wayfinder until they fall in battle and if they do, they are locked out permanently from that save until you go down the entire roster and your last Wayfinder falls.

As you play, you will not be able to adjust your difficulty setting after you launch this save. If you choose to play multiplayer, you'll only be able to play with others who are on the same difficulty setting with Hardcore mode enabled. This will limit your potential matchmaking pool, but of course it makes for a more even challenge.

So what is the point of all of this, except to push yourself to the limit? The mode offers some exclusive challenges just for hardcore. Complete them and you will start unlocking exclusive rewards that you'll be able to use on any save slot Of any difficulty and it isn't limited to just hardcore saves. So if you want some new shinies, make it through hardcore mode and you can show those off.
