Last week, Airship Syndicate announced that the Wayfinder: Echoes update would soon be available on PlayStation 5, along with a return to sale on the platform. The team has decided to one up those announcements with a new collaboration with Critical Role and the 1.0 launch date.
Wayfinder will officially launch on October 21st. The rebooted game is a one-time purchase, with no in-game monetization and the ability to play offline or with optional co-op.
The first optional supporter pack features a collaboration with Critical Role. The collaboration adds some themed content like a Trinket mount, 15 housing items, and four Vox Machina character skins. You'll also get four character charms and 10 sprays. This pack will go on sale for $19.99 and launch with 1.0 on October 21st.
This will be the first collaboration supporter pack, but not the last.
"In the future we’ll be working to bring additional Supporter Packs to Wayfinder with the same philosophy above; unique and cool cosmetic collaborations with other IPs, not sold in-game so as not to pressure players into feeling a sense of requirement to purchase. We aren’t quite ready to announce exactly what they are, but if you’re familiar with Airship’s body of work, you can make some pretty educated guesses as to what’s in store."
As of today, the game is available on PC and back on Playstation 5, along with the second of two promised big quality of life updates. Today's new update features a housing expansion that allows for a multi-story apartment that you can decorate, customize, and use to house and show off your collectibles.
Also in the update are practical features like improved control for melee combat, offering smoother interactions and tighter control during animations, and several options to tweak your experience. World scaling tools let you adjust things like enemy levels, loot drops, and encounter difficulty if you are offering a tailored multiplayer experience. To go along with this, there are also new performance and UI customization settings that you can toggle on or off, like shadows or post processing effects, if you need to improve performance on your machine.
