Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is now available on PlayStation 5, along with the Grim Protocols update on all platforms.

Getting to PlayStation 5 took time, but now the game is available for PS5 and is PlayStation 5 Pro Enhanced, with all of the content and improvements since PC launch.  The PS5 Pro edition supports 60fps on a 4K resolution. To mark the new content overall, and Darktide’s second anniversary, the game is on sale for 50% off and the Imperial Edition and upgrade DLC are 60% off.

In Grim Protocols, expect a new mission, new weapon families, a special event, and improvements. There are three new weapons families in the update: Two-Handed Force, Power Swords, and Ogryn Heavy Stubber, a new support firearm for Ogryns.

“Dark Communion” is the brand new mission that takes you back to the Carnival to explore even darker corners and face cultists that are looking to complete their titular dark communion.

The second anniversary is also here and as part of the anniversary event you can get yourself a weapon trinket and more.

The co-op  FPS gets a brand new endgame mode, Havoc, and a new tiered progression system for Trust level 30. Take on Havoc Assignments, In a series of 40 increasingly difficult challenging levels, each having different modifiers and mutators that impact the challenge.

As you progress through the new progression system, you get three attempts per level to try and beat it before you're demoted. So, maybe the third time's the charm, but if it isn't, then you'll have to claw your way back up in the rankings. You can attempt as many ranks as you want to in a week. Rewards will include things like mastery XP, materials, and weekly materials caches.

The Penance progression track also expands with new challenges and rewards. Darktide also gets some quality of life updates, including an expanded Party Finder.

Fatshark goes into much more detail on all of the new content and overhauls if you're prepping to jump in.
