For those that have been waiting for Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, Fatshark has begun a closed beta weekend starting today and running through Sunday.

With release having been moved from September 13th to November 30th on PC, with console releases to follow, the team promised that there would at least be some closed beta weekend time coming. The closed beta weekend was announced for October, and now we’re here.

The weekend has arrived, and for those who are lucky enough to have already been invited, now’s the time to get in there, get your team together, pick your best class, and test the game out.

The devs have had signups open for a bit, with some invites having gone out  already, with more to come. The team has said they’re looking for a variety of systems to test the game out and that they’ll be inviting more players throughout the weekend. Interested players can still apply for a key by heading to the Darktide Steam page and clicking request access. There’s another method announced today that could be easier if you meet the qualifications.

If you’re an Xbox Insider on PC, you can also join the closed beta though the Xbox Insider hub. This way of getting in is first come, first served. This is still a closed beta, but some ways of getting in throughout the weekend are clearly a bit more open.

If none of those methods work, Fatshark has also said that there will be giveaways via streamers.

Fatshark has also been releasing more info on the game’s classes and some of the Warhammer lore that will come into play in this co-op game. The most recent class spotlight fell on the Veteran: Sharpshooter sub-class. Inspired by the Imperial Guard, these formidable soldiers persevere by their training and discipline.

For more on the beta, head over to Warhammer 40,000: Darktide.
