Gamasutra is reporting that rumors are beginning to spread that Wargaming's Seattle office will be closing and over a hundred employees will lose their jobs. You may remember that Wargaming Seattle was the new name given after the buyout of Gas Powered Games, developers of the Dungeon Siege and Supreme Commander series. We don't have any definitive word of the veracity of the growing rumor, but we have seen industry veterans posting job vacancies in their own companies to those displaced.

Just heard that the entire Wargaming Seattle office just shut down. 160ish people affected. Is there a hashtag to help people? #WGJobs?

Update 1: The Wargaming Seattle Wiki is reporting that CEO Victor Kislyi has announced that WG Seattle will be closing "within 2 months".

Update 2: “Wargaming will be assisting the current employees of the Redmond studio, if they decide to apply for open positions in other offices within the company,” the publisher said in a statement to Kotaku. “We would like to express our gratitude and thank everyone on the team for their hard work.”

We will be reaching out to Wargaming representatives and will keep you posted as the story develops.
