Wargaming is going metal with its upcoming Wargaming Metal Fest, with events across its games and featuring all new content featuring the legendary band Megadeth.
This latest collaboration is a celebration of metal music and will come to World of Tanks Modern Armor, World of Tanks Blitz, World of Warships, and World of Warships Legends starting on August 28th. The event, across all of these Wargaming titles, will feature exclusive voiceovers from Megadeth, as well as in-game Items, like tanks, ships, special in-game missions, quests, even of course, music.
The members of Megadeth will also contribute exclusive voiceovers. This means frontman Dave Mustaine, James Lomenzo, Kiko Loureiro and Dirk Verbeuren. The collaboration will also feature the band's classic mascot, Vic Rattlehead, who you'll be able to find in a video game for the first time in a 3D representation with his own voiceover.
In a release announcing the collaboration, Dave Mustaine says,
“This is the first time our images have been immortalized in video games! Moreover, our mascot has unleashed its own roaring voice, adding even more metal mayhem to the games. We've laid down over 350 mind-melting voice lines, and players will feel the thunder as we command during the battles. We have tanks, we have warships, and we are ready for Wargaming Metal Fest!".
In World of Warships on PC, the event runs from August 28th through September 13th. You'll be able to take on exclusive missions to get special Commanders, including frontman Dave Mustaine himself, along with Vic Rattlehead. The Death Ray patch will also be available to claim. If you want something extra, there are two bundles on the way. If you get them, you'll get a cruiser: Rattlehead, that is inspired by the Rust in Peace album cover that plays the song Tornado of Souls as you play the ship.
World of Warships: Legends will feature the event from August 28-October 2nd. The Rattlehead cruiser will be available, along with additional rewards featuring Dave and Vic. Goodies include a themed banned logo flag and patch, and more.
World of Tanks Blitz will get a special Megadeth quest that will give you a shot at prizes like camos, both static and animated, that have been inspired by Megadeth album covers.
Finally, in World of Tanks Modern Armor, This event will run from August 29th through September 25th, and feature challenges to unlock a number of Megadeth themed rewards. Vic Rattlehead will be a 3D commander, while the band members will all be 2D commanders with original voiceovers.
If you want more info on the entire collaboration, Wargaming has set up a special mini site with info for all participating games.
