Warframe’s Abyss of Dagath update is now live, bringing a fittingly spooky new Warframe to add to your roster. Also in the update are companion reworks, Grendel Prime, the Hydroid rework, and new zone.

Digital Extremes is fond of revealing Warframes around this time that have that creepy vibe to them. This year, the honor goes to Dagath. Inspired by the legendary headless horseman tales, Dagath is a faceless horse rider who has been seeking revenge by stalking along the Origin System. Allegedly, she rises every Night of Naberus. But now, she can be yours at all times.

Her signature weapon, Dorrclave, is a combination sword/whip that will require flexible strategies. In combat, she is surrounded by wyrd scythes that seek enemies, slowing them and inflicting viral damage on hit, with a guaranteed status effect. The scythes also extend and spread Doom. She also has a passive, Abundant Abyss, that could grant her 300% effectiveness bonus to energy and health orbs.

Probably her showiest ability, Rakhali’s Cavalry finishes off what Dagath has already set the stage for. “Phantom Kaithes charge forth, inflicting Viral Damage upon all in their path. Their attack strips the defenses of Doomed enemies”, according to the official description.

The Abyssal Zone exterminate node is here, and you can help a group out there who need help finishing a mission to recover Defixios from raiders. The tablets you need to recover are said to have a certain cursed energy that inflicts those who carry it with something strange. Part of your reward will be a new resource, Vainthorn, which is used to craft Dagath and her weapon.

To acquire her, you can purchase instant access or head to the new Dagath’s Hollow dojo room to work to collect her blueprints. Sit down and listen to Grandmother’s tale of  “a Dax cavalry woman, her beloved steed, and the fate bestowed upon both of them by those who had once treasured her”.

The update also introduces the Hydroid rework and offers access to Grendel Prime, his signature Prime weapons and accessories, meaning that Grendel Prime, Zylok Prime, and Masseter Prime will be craftable through earning relics.

Companions have been reworked so that they won't die, meaning that your companions will be more viable–and helpful–in higher level gameplay scenarios. Companions will become incapacitated, and there will be several ways this applies to different types of companions. companion stats have also been reworked across the board.
