The most recent Warframe devstream is packed full of 1999 info and movement on the Android version.
Digital Extremes is still teasing when it comes to Warframe: 1999, and keeping the expansion’s actual release date under wraps until The Game Awards next week. However, on December 5th, a brand new anime short, produced with THE LINE, will be released to tide us over until the big announcements to come.
We did get some new information too. The community was able to decode a series of messages and now have boyband On-lyne’s latest single, “The Great Despair” to listen to. The ARG challenged the community's solving skills and the team has provided a summary of how it all went down.
When the new narrative update arrives, feel like 1999 again by sending instant messages to members of The Hex to learn some of their backstories, get to know them a little better, and “maybe even spark something more” with a romance system. As you get to know them, you can earn new rewards like cosmetics, Syndicate rank ups, crafting resources, and even more music tracks.
Speaking of music, one feature has been slightly delayed. The Technocyte Coda, featuring corrupted copies of On-lyne’s members as bosses, needs a little more development time so expect this to be available in early 2025.
Faceoff is a new 4v4 PvPvE game mode that will offer something new to Warframe. Teams begin on opposite sides of Höllvania and complete tasks for The Hex and battle waves of enemies. Coming out on top will be a matter of getting strategic advantages like guaranteed critical damage–or hindrances that affect the other team, like launching a missile strike on them. Unlock both types and use them well by racking up points.

Neil Newbon, who voiced Fibonacci back in Whispers in the Walls, and Astarion in Baldur’s Gate 3, will voice Lieutenant Viktor Vodyanoi in 1999. He’s frustrated with the Scaldra’s leader and is plotting to take over.
The update will also introduce Cyte-09, the 59th Warframe, Who can scan and see enemies through walls, drop elemental ammo, and even use cloaking tech. The Exalted sniper rifle is even showier, with ricocheting bullets and icy grenade launcher.
We can also expect a series of quality of life updates, and you can check out the full stream for more details. Warframe's Android version also got some news, as pre-registrations are now live for that.
