Upcoming VR MMO Ilysia has entered its second closed alpha period, following the first test last year and the studio being a bit quiet on updates. The closed alpha began on March 25th and will run through April 8th.

The test will be open to those who are able to get keys for the closed testing, but is also open to those who backed the game pre Kickstarter and in certain Kickstarter tiers. There have also been keys through giveaways as well and there are still going to be more chances to get a key until the last week of the alpha, so if you have interest in testing this VR MMO, there's still a chance that you can get a key.

If you haven’t heard about Ilysia before, or simply need a refresher, Team 21 Studio has been developing the VR MMO for several years now and it was successfully funded on Kickstarter in 2020. Since the game is a VR title, movement mechanics are important. Combat in the game is going to be physics-based,  with the intention that players will be able to swing weapons and be be in the world, with options to fight with weapons or spellcasting if that’s your preference. Expect PvE, PvP, and plenty of exploration. The team wants to create a large world that players can explore with different areas like a desert or water, and travel around by using airships, mounts, or simply exploring.

With several VR games of varying sizes and community attention already running, we’re entering a brand new time where VR MMOS and similar games have an opportunity to really find their niche and show what makes them special.

The currently running second Alpha follows last year's first alpha test. You can read more about development and changelogs for the build, including the alpha here at the Ilysia Kickstarter page.
