The latest Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen newsletter is out and it's filled with promise with 2019 fully underway. Of particular note, the letter announces that some new staff have been brought on board thanks to the "upheaval in the gaming industry in the final quarter of 2018" that led to some opportunities in the hiring department. As a result, production will speed up and the team "will increase implementation of a myriad of systems and features without impacting our long-term finances".
The letter goes on to review 2018 in retrospect and looks to the future in 2019:
Project Faerthale is underway. Now that we are back from holidays we are finalizing our scope for that release and setting some internal goal dates. Ross, our lead animator, is already working hard on new animations and the rest of the art team is developing the art for Project Faerthale and beyond. Programming is adding more to the existing tools like the ability editor,, planning out some new tools for a more robust and streamlined Perception System and adding more features, systems, stability and bug-squashing to the existing client. Design is fleshing out some systems and encounter designs and tech is looking into more robust back-end features.
The letter is rounded out with a lore story called "Tales from the Fire"; and interview with Ross Armstrong and the Community Spotlight.
