Nexon’s latest Vindictus update features a new top-level raid, “The One Who Protects the Altar”, A new level cap, new story update, and a number of limited time rewards.

“Desperate Deterrent” is the new story update and is Season 4, Episode 9. Yet, for many, the brand new raid is the centerpiece of this update. Not only do you have to be level 120, which is the brand new level cap, you'll have to be skilled and ready to take on this challenging raid. Head to the Mount Celesina region of Toward Taratha to find it. Pick the right group and work together to stop the boss, Sreng, who is trying to resurrect Lord Balor, from completingthe ritual.

Facing Sreng and his army of giants  promises to be tough because he's a skilled commander that will attack with his body and the earth around him, which is a hint at trying to understand his mechanics. If you successfully beat this raid before July 9th, you'll even get some evil cores as a bonus. Also bonus missions available like if you win with under eight hits from the boss or if you were never incapacitated.

As stated, the level cap will increase to 120 and  to support this, Vindictus adds some new equipment. The Uaithne weapons and armor are drops from the new raid (or use High Expertise  equipment crafting if you have access). As part of a special promo with this update, as you level up and try to make it to 120, until July 23rd there will be new bonus items every time you level up from 116 to 120.

There are a number of events and limited time rewards for completing various raids, special dungeons, and Royal Army raids. If you complete special missions until July 23rd you can earn special tokens for the Plink Plink vending machine.

Vindictus has all of the details and changes in the full update notes, including all of the bonus opportunities.
