Nexon has added a brand new character to its hack n slash MMORPG, Vindictus. Sou, known as the “Night Raven who shattered the sky”, is a swordsman with a mysterious background. While rumors follow him, he gets his message across via two swords. With the new update, there are events, the ability to get progression bonuses, and the removal of all PvP from the game.
Sou carries the Kodachi and Odachi, two swords of different lengths. He wields just one at a time though, depending on his goals and needs. Kodachi is shorter and faster, while Odachi is heavy and useful for landing destructive blows. He also wears the Raven in Flight, his unique outfit. In line with rumors that he was once a palace guard, he used to wear “Guard of Heaven”, designed for high mobility.
Being a hack n slash MMO, it’s no surprise that Sou’s combat style involves learning how to execute the right combos at the right time. His different skills also take advantage of the teo swords, so you can decide how you are fighting simply by changing your weapon. Distant Horizon, Sou’s core active skill, when you have the Kodachi equipped, will sheathe it, then draw it fast to slash the enemy in front of you. If you use the Odachi, however, Sou will unleash a downward strike, and if you want to make it more devastating, you can gather strength before using the skill and also send out a shockwave. His other skills mostly offer similar variation.
To mark his arrival, Vindictus has the Celebratory Package event, where you can get level up boxes for new characters and those under 30 on your roster. If you create a new Sou, you’ll get even more rewards per stage. There’s also a special event with bonuses that will run trough March 26th.
