The latest Valorant patch is live and brings about a bunch of major changes to the Split map.
This patch, Patch 2.01, is the first patch following the launch of Episode 2 and the introduction of the newest agent, Yoru, last week. This patch decreases Jett’s smoke duration from 7 to 4.5 seconds. But the major changes coming in this patch are the changes to Split.
As Riot puts it,
“This Split update is focused around improving attacker options on the map, as well as reducing 50/50 checks, the depth of certain corners, and opening specific areas on the map by increasing chokepoint widths.”
This is evident throughout the multitude of changes made to the map. It’s difficult to describe these changes in text, but thankfully, there’s a handy video showing exactly what has been modified and updated. Check out the video embedded below:

The patch brought about several bug fixes as well including, but limited to:
- Fixed an issue with rank promotion and demotion indicators overlapping players rank on the Career page
- Fixed a bug that would cause either a Radiant icon or an error message to show during the End of Game screen instead of the correct rank details
- Fixed a bug where Reyna’s Leer would not display on the minimap correctly
- Fixed a bug where credits wouldn’t be properly refunded after selling a gun that a teammate bought
