Valheim has sold over 2 million copies since launching in Steam Early Access on February 2nd, according to developer Iron Gate Studio. The team made the announcement on its Steam page, thanking players for the support.
Valheim first launched in Early Access on Steam back on February 2nd, and since then has seen some monumental numbers, selling one million within the first week, and reaching 2 million copies sold now in just under two weeks since launch. Additionally, it's been one of the most popular games on Steam, sporting over 360K concurrent players on the platform over the weekend.
"We wanted to start by sharing a giant troll-sized thank you! In just 13 days Valheim has been purchased by over two million Vikings, and this weekend we reached a new peak concurrent player milestone of 360,000," the Iron Gate team stated via the Steam post.
The team put the numbers in perspective as well, touting that the current number of Vikings exploring Valheim exceeds the total number of actual Vikings set in 1300 AD, with approximately 500,000.
We've been loving Valheim here at MMORPG, with myself barely able to log out of the survival sim to work this morning. You can check out some of our thoughts in our latest editorial published earlier today.
