The lovers’ day celebrations are almost here, as the annual Valentine’s Day event of Final Fantasy 14 has finally been announced.
“Valentione’s Day” will return from Wednesday, February 7th, for two weeks until early on February 21st. The questline appears to bring back Astrid, a recurring NPC from the Valentione’s Day events, as part of the festivities run by the Valentione family.
The reward this year might be one of the cutest (and most likely to be used) yet: the “Love Heart” emote, in which your toon gives a little heart-shaped motion at the chest. Given its playful nature and the vibes of the community, it’ll likely see a lot of mileage in the same vein as “Dote” from the 2017 iteration of Valentine’s Day, which literally blows a heart via air-kiss to the target.
Players can earn a romantic little pink chair, the “Valentione's Heart Chair,” for their apartments and estates as well. Holiday decorations will also be up in all primary city-states, including their housing areas, and we can expect a sale in the Optional Items store for prior years’ items.
Based on previous years, FFXIV’s “Little Ladies’ Day” will likely immediately follow the Valentione’s Day celebrations, celebrating “Dolls’ Day” or “Girls’ Day” in Japan. FFXIV continues its ever-famous free extended trial with now two expansions included and no limits on playtime, so you and your lover can go to the Far East for free on a jumping tower date or something.
