There, you can take on the followers, visit two new vampire merchant camps, and work your way through attacks and dangers to fight your way to Dracula’s Castle, one of the many new locations to discover here. The Legion of Noctum are new enemies, so even V Rising Early Access devotees should find a challenge. They offer a special new blood type with special benefits: Draculin.

This is a huge patch. It took the team a long time to get their first major update out, because they had to rebuild a lot of the systems and make a ton of updates. In the launch patch notes, they reveal since the beginning of Early Access to launch, they’ve made an estimated 80,000 changes. This includes more than 23,000 changes to get us to the 1.0 release since the release of their first major update, Secrets of Gloomrot.

The launch update also adds controller support on PC and  new difficulty options for servers, each impacting things like enemy power and environmental dangers. Relaxed mode is for those who want to build and blend that with some exploration and adventuring. Enemies deal less damage and the sun is less deadly. The other new difficulty is Brutal, which is for the more experienced, bravest, or foolish. Here, enemies not only deal more damage and have more health, they have additional levels, more abilities, and modified combat behaviors to keep you on your toes.

Vampires can now officially go forth and start their own journeys, whether you launch head on into the challenge or prefer to explore and build up a sleek multi-level castle.
