The official launch of vampire survival game V Rising is only days away, and with it comes a slew of anticipated changes. Meanwhile, some of the more nitty-gritty details of the saves and servers have been released ahead of the pre-launch maintenance.

According to Stunlock Studios’s Steam announcement, maintenance for the servers will take place on May 6, 5:30 a.m. PDT, shutting down the game until the official launch on May 8 (time TBD). Upon V Rising’s official launch, all saves will be wiped, so players will have to start from scratch for the official launch.

The official launch brings plenty of new features, such as timed official servers that let players dig in against others with a variety of styles, permitting 60 players each to take on the vampiric world (and/or each other). While the official ones will reset based on their listed time, the devs intend to create new servers about halfway through each’s allotted reset timer.

Official server types are as follows:

  • PvE Squad Servers - 6 Month Reset Time
  • PvE Squad Servers - Brutal Difficulty - 6 Month Reset Time
  • PvP Squad - Weekend Raids - 3 Month Reset Time
  • PvP Squad - Brutal Difficulty - Weekend Raids - 6 Month Reset Time
  • PvP Trio - Weekend Raids - 3 Month Reset Time
  • PvP Duo - Weekend Raids - 3 Month Reset Time
  • PvP Squad - No Raids - 1 Month Reset Time
  • PvP Squad - Merciless (Full loot) - Daily Raids - 1 Month Reset Time
  • PvP Duo - Merciless (Full loot) - Daily Raids - 1 Month Reset Time

Those looking to take V Rising at their own pace will be glad to find new difficulties to choose from: Relaxed, Normal, and Brutal Modes; Relaxed Mode eases up on the damage and damage taken, while in Brutal Mode, there are new boss behaviors, more damage, and more loot (plus increased item durability, just to help). On launch, these can be selected before creating a new server/game.

Those who opt to play with friends on private servers will be able to customize their game with a bit more ease, as there’ll be the option to go directly into the directory to edit server files directly from the client. Already, Stunlock provides official instructions on creating dedicated servers via a GitHub page, so anyone can start their own.

The official V Rising website provides a more in-depth preview about what the official launch brings, including new bosses, equipment/weapons, magic, a spider form, castle management tools, and much more. It’s a long-awaited milestone for the game, which reached over 4 million sales about a month ago during its early access period alone.
