Depot spawning brings frantic action to battlefield
The new version, available as a free update to all subscribers, allows players to establish a foothold in enemy held cities as well as use non-military facilities for troop spawning. With depot spawning, infantry are all over towns and cities creating fast-paced street fights as troops move from building to building. Snipers become more deadly and more vulnerable and choke point sieges are now tougher with troops flanking enemy units much more quickly and posing a threat to armor in towns at every corner.

Factories, strategic bombing and players commanding the war
The new version brings huge new gameplay features with the addition of a factory-powered strategic system and new RPG functions allowing players to have even more control over the virtual battlefield. A new strategic system, in which planned and accurate air/land/sea attacks of key facilities now allow combatants to interdict their enemy's ability to wage war, provides rich and rewarding new gameplay. The Research, Development and Production (RDP) system provides player-commanders the ability to manipulate spawn lists. The in-game factories power the RDP system, outputting the means necessary for vehicle and equipment choices on spawn lists. This spawn list is "ordered" by the player-run High Command in advance so while commanders' choices may give a country spawn lists that have real impact on it's chances to win the war, protecting the factories and allowing them to complete the RDP cycle is the only way to see that the new lists are made available in-game.
Plus much more
This new version has a lot more to offer new and existing players. In addition to porting the Unity 3D graphics engine to OpenGL, it adds another 40 cities/towns/ports to what is already the largest online world available in an MMOG. A large number of new special effects area added to the game such as debris from shell hits on aircraft, shell ejections in first and third person and more battlefield explosions. These features along with new infantry animations and additional vehicles make this update one of the biggest to date.
