If you’re having trouble getting into a few MMORPG classics this weekend, you’re not alone. It looks like both The Lord of the Rings Online and Dungeons & Dragons Online, both of which are run by Standing Stone Games, are facing a major server outage today, March 30th, lasting just about eight hours at time of writing.
Player posts on the official forums for each game noting the outage started appearing about 6:45 a.m. PDT today on official forums.
An official acknowledgment about the downtime was made on socials and forums for both games at about 10 a.m., not long after the servers were first noted as down by players. Since then, the community manager went back into the thread to let players know there’s no official estimated time for the fix. There are also no updates about extensions of timed events such as sales.
5pm Eastern update: We continue to work on issues at the data center preventing log in. At this time we do not have an ETA, but we will keep you updated. #LOTRO
