UPDATE: It seems that recently lapsed World of Warcraft subscription account have been unlocked with players able to log in and play any character, even those over level 20, for free through June 24th. The announcement was made via the World of Warcraft community site earlier today. Thanks, Grunty!

It seems that recently lapsed World of Warcraft subscription account have been unlocked with players able to log in and play any character, even those over level 20, for free for the time being. There was no announcement made, but savvy Redditors noticed they were able to log their characters even without resubscribing. In addition, accounts that have been inactive for a long while have been upgraded to Warlords of Draenor.
If you've been "out of the loop" for awhile, it's a golden opportunity to see all of the changes in the game since the last time you logged in.
