[UPDATE 1:07pm PT] The latest tweet has revealed that Arkenstone and Evernight are currently unavailable , while some chat services are disabled.

[UPDATE 12:10pm PT] In the latest tweet from the Lord of the Rings Online twitter, all game worlds are back up except for Evernight. They contend that more information will follow shortly.  We will continue to update as more information becomes available.

[UPDATE 11:50am PT] It looks like Arkenstone has been reopened in The Lord of the Rings Online, however no additional info has been given as to the status of the other servers still currently down. As of this update, there isn't any new info on the Dungeons & Dragons Online front. We'll continue to update this story as new info is presented.

Original Story Below:

Players of The Lord of the Rings Online and Dungeons & Dragons Online have had a rough go of it the past few days as server instability has wrecked havoc on Standing Stone Games' services. For the past five days the games have been dealing with issues that the developer seems unable to rectify and keep stable, something that is certain to grate on fan patience as the time goes on.

Starting on July 15th, a few of the major servers in LotRO were brought down for restarts, citing "health of the game environment." Since then, these problems have spread to multiple servers, affecting Arkenstone, Brandywine, Gladden, Crickhollow and more. As such the game servers haven't been stable for days, restricting access to those eager to jump into Festival shenanigans.

DDO fans have had a similar experience with connectivity issues at the game's data center, and just yesterday cautioned players to not play on any Hardcore server, though they would remain open. This data center instability has bled into today, with multiple of both game's worlds being brought down with no timetable as to when they could finally become stabilized.

Understandably, fans are not happy about these issues, especially when you consider those who sub to both games are literally paying for the downtime. Some fans are asking for compensation for the time lost, while others are asking for more transparency from Standing Stone Games as to exactly what has been going on since Thursday.

We'll keep an eye on this story and update this post as new information/updates are announced.
