The Elder Scrolls Online Update 45 and the upcoming dungeon DLC, Fallen Banners, both arrive in March. Both have also just been added to the Public Test Server.

Last week, we got the first details on what we can expect from the base game update and the new DLC. Fallen Banners will feature two new four-player dungeons, each with their own story content and challenges. Exiled Redoubt will put you in the midst of the Alliance War, where you’ll help Battlemage Lucilla and investigate the disappearance of some Imperial soldiers. in Lep Seclusa, the Moth Priest sanctuary that holds a prized Elder Scroll, is under attack by invaders.

Update 45 will introduce some Cyrodiil updates, beginning with one of the newly-proposed experiments in the content: Cyrodiil Champions Test Campaign. This will have its own ruleset. In the first phase, there are seven Champion classes to use, with some features deliberately unavailable. Everyone competing has equal power, so this is a skills challenge. This first phase will run when the update arrives, with the team intending to continue actively testing, learning from community feedback, and offering more options over time.

The base game update will also give a few starter areas some much-needed polish, bringing them in line with more recent starter areas, like West Weald. Not only will there be graphical updates, but there will be environmental changes, terrain transitions, improved lighting, and more adjustments to make the spaces feel more lived in and active.

If you want to help the ESO team to test both of these upcoming content releases, you can jump into the PC/Mac PTS starting today. In addition to the two new dungeons and those starter area refreshes, there are a series of other improvements and quality of life changes in the update. There's more in the PTS patch notes.

Fallen Banners will be released as an ESO Plus member exclusive. It's likely to become available by other means later, but if you want to jump in on day one, you'll have to have an active membership.
