The Elder Scrolls Online site has been updated with a new post to detail three of the big additions to the game when Update 18 goes live later this summer. Most notably, players will find Daily Log In rewards, the ability to gift items to others from the Crown Store and a number of combat changes.
Every day that players log in, they will receive a reward that can be in the form of currencies, consumable and at certain benchmarks even things like Crown Crates or collectibles. The very first month will even include a new pet. As a new month rolls around, DLR will reset with the tally of days as a cumulative total, rather than a consecutive one.
Crown Store Gifting will allow players to purchase and send nearly everything in the Crown Store to friends. The option to Purchase a Gift will be clearly marked on items that can be sent. It is, however an ability that needs to be unlocked.
If you are an existing player who is not yet an ESO Plus member or has not made a Crown Pack purchase, you will also need to make a purchase and then wait 30 days in order to gain the ability to gift. Gifting is automatically unlocked if you are an existing player with a qualifying history of Crown Pack purchases or ESO Plus participation on the launch of Update 18.
Combat changes will be coming along several lines:
- two-handed weapons will now count for two item set bonuses
- changes are being implemented to "improve the viability of tank and healer roles for all classes"
- basic attacks will become more distinct: Light Attacks deal damage while Heavy Attacks restore resource
