Update 107 - Elementals, Expiring Items and Events

This week's Shroud of the Avatar newsletter covers a range of things, including the game's presence at CES in Vegas. More importantly though, it talks about the combat Elementals mages can summon, showing images that differentiate the summoned variety from their wild counterparts. The main visual indicator are the bindings that wrap summoned Elementals which show that they're under a mage's control.

Portarlarium has also decided to create Golems based on what used to be Ice Elementals. Both new Elementals and Golems will be coming up in Release 14 and 15. Also in Release 14 comes the Grand Tour Quest Reward - a Hennin (for you average non-royal types, that's a pointy princess hat).  The hat can only be unlocked during Release 14, so anyone with aspirations of cone-headedness better get on the stick.

Keeping with the theme of in-game items, Portarlarium will henceforward be removing items from the Add-Ons store, so if you've had your eye on that Sickle of Prosperity, you'd better grab it! (Especially since it's on sale this week at 20% off.)

Finally, the newsletter reminds SotA players of this weekend's events.

Today's event schedule (Sunday, January 11) is as follows:

  • 5:30am CST – Explore Novia with royalsexy (Owl’s Head entrance)
  • 1:00pm CST – Cagefight (with bets!) – watch the forums for details
  • 3:00pm CST – Vengeance 3×3 Tournament $$$ (Vengeance Castle in The Brave Coast; details)
  • 7:00pm CST – PaxLair Meeting – (“/zone Winfield”)
  • 8:00pm CST – Fishing with Winfield (some lake or pond, “/zone Winfield”)
