Bethesda plans to drop Milepost Zero, the 20th major update for Fallout 76, later this year and the team has been talking up the details while players put the update through its paces on the FO76 public test server.
One of the major changes coming in the update is an overhaul of the game’s Legendary crafting systems. Players will now scrap Legendary weapons for mods or acquire mods from either trading or events. Legendary Particles can also be acquired from scrapping Legendary weapons and these Particles are now used to craft Legendary mods.
A new story arc titled Bump in the Road will also be added with this update, allowing players to create their own Caravan Company. Clearing Blue Ridge Caravan Company quests and events will unlock special constructs that can be placed along with C.A.M.P.s and feature NPC vendors that can sell the player a variety of weapons and items, including the new V63 Laser Carbine.
The caravan quests will task players with five to ten minute missions where they will be required to escort a caravan along a route. Players can also assist others escorting caravans out in the open world. The goal here is to fill the gaps in between events that players tend to run frequently in order to keep the action going.
