The Ultima Online: New Legacy beta announcement has received an enthusiastic response, according to the team, revealing the first open beta weekend will be this weekend.
The first New Legacy open beta will begin this Friday, July 26th and end on Sunday, July 28th. After this, the UO team plans beta weekends up until launch. This announcement follows a recent release of a gameplay trailer showing off some of what we can expect in this fresh shard.
New Legacy is designed as an opportunity to start off in Britannia in a fresh way that is not exactly a fresh start server nor a typical classic shard. The emphasis is on a classic Ultima RPG experience and taking everyone back to the feeling of building their legacy, with some new features and additions. In this version of Sosaria, the realm did not unite to back a new king, so the lands are fractured and there are changes and choices to be made. There's a new quest objective system, and choices to be made on the path you choose.
In this version, the emphasis on you starting your own adventure and legacy, and there are additional options like a daily quest system to help you progress along the way and Advance the main storyline, an expanded PVP system, and additional features. In addition to PVP options and daily quests, there are additional changes to help streamline resource Gathering and crafting, updated housing system and guild experiences, and more choices to be made and record your achievements and personal legacy.
