Ubisoft Responds to Backlash Over Star Wars Outlaws Jabba the Hutt Controversy

Things are not going well for Ubisoft right now. The company has come under fire on multiple fronts recently, stirring up the ire of players after revoking licenses for The Crew following the shut down of its servers earlier this month, but also over the season pass for its upcoming title, Star Wars Outlaws.

Why does a single player game like Star Wars Outlaws have a season pass? Who knows? But to make matters worse, Ubisoft has locked its Jabba the Hutt Gambit mission behind the walls of its season pass, which comes with the game’s $109.99 Gold Edition or $129.99 Ultimate Edition, by the way.

Ubisoft has responded to the backlash by clarifying that content featuring Jabba the Hutt will be part of the overall Star Wars Outlaws experience for everyone, it’s just the specific Jabba the Hutt Gambit mission that players won’t be able to access without the season pass. That doesn’t make things a whole lot better, though, since we have no clue what said mission entails.

Star Wars Outlaws launches on August 27, 2024 for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The aforementioned Gold and Ultimate Editions will grant players three days of early access.
