Ubisoft has published a statement addressing the allegations raised against several of its team members in the wake of the past week.
One of these team members accused is Ashraf Ismail, former Creative Director of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. He issued a statement yesterday stepping down after allegations were raised against him of an extra marital affair.
Ubisoft begins their statement by apologizing to everyone affected. They then note that they have started investigations,
“We have started by launching investigations into the allegations with the support of specialized external consultants. Based on the outcomes, we are fully committed to taking any and all appropriate disciplinary action. As these investigations are ongoing, we can't comment further.”
Additionally, they are updating their existing policies and systems to address their failings there,
“We are also auditing our existing policies, processes, and systems to understand where these have broken down, and to ensure we can better prevent, detect, and punish inappropriate behavior.”
Ubisoft closes by stating that that in the coming days, they’ll provide an update on additional measures they’re taking on their end. You can read their entire statement here.
