Ubisoft Confirms E3 2023 Presence After CEO's Confusing Statement

After a recent statements from Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot saying that "if E3 happens" the company will be there, Ubisoft has confirmed its presence at the June event.

Speaking to GamesIndustry.biz, an Ubisoft spokesperson confirmed that the company would have a presence at the show in June, but that “we are still finalising the details of our plans”. This follows confirmation by the  new organizers of E3, ReedPop, saying that E3 is definitely happening and everything is proceeding for the event.

This is true, despite Xbox, Nintendo, and Sony deciding to not have an E3 floor presence when the event returns. The companies do promise a slate of events will coincide with the event, but they will be separate, as has been the case several times, especially over the past several years.

Ubisoft’s confirmation that it will be presenting is one big company that is locking in after its CEOs comments. With a number of big franchises, Ubisoft has been in a reorganization process of sorts, after some disappointing sales. There’s still no word as to what they might show at E3, though we think that the oft-delayed Skull and Bones might be a potential presence. Despite being sent into the “2023-24” window, the team has been conducting playtesting to mixed response, with word coming that there’s another, even better, playtest build out there that few have seen just yet.

Still, it’s early, and more info will be coming in the next few months as to what we’ll see at the updated E3.

This year is not the first that E3 wil welcome fans into the event, which was once business-exclusive in its entirety, but with ReedPop taking over, the format itself has changed. Taking place from June 13-June 16th, the first two days remain business only, the third for business and consumers, and the final day, consumers only.
