Ubisoft has unveiled a new subscription service for Rainbow Six Siege and unsurprisingly it hasn’t gone over well with the community. The announcement was made during the Blast R6 Major Manchester event and drew quite a few boos from the crowd.
Subscription services aren’t altogether uncommon in games these days, games like GTA Online, Fallout 76, and others offer them, but nevertheless players are unhappy with the announcement of Ubisoft’s R6 Membership program. It’s not exactly the most generous subscription, which certainly doesn’t help.
For $10 a month, players get an exclusive cosmetic content drop consisting of 1 Legendary item and 1 Epic bundle on the 28th of each month, instant Battle Pass access with 10 Battle levels and 1 Bravo pack, and an additional 10 Battle levels and 1 Bravo pack at each monthly renewal date.
In other R6 news, Year 9 Season 2 “Operation New Blood” is also set to release soon. The season will put a major focus on re-balancing a number of the games Operators, starting with Striker, Fenrir, Solis, and Deimos.
Rainbow Six Siege is available now on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4 and 5. Players can sign up for R6 Membership beginning on June 11.
