It looks like Lucasfilm and Ubisoft are teaming up for a Star Wars game much in the way that Bethesda and Lucasfilm did for their upcoming Indiana Jones game. The developer, Massive, known for games like The Division 2 and Far Cry 3, will be taking the helm at crafting an open-world title in the Star Wars universe.
The upcoming Star Wars game is going to be story-driven, though very few details have been provided. Here is what we know so far:
- The game will be story-drive and open-world
- It’s supposed to be “totally different” than what Massive has done in the past, while “upping the bar” for the industry. (Quotes by Creative Director, Julian Gerighty)
- The story will follow new characters
- Will be built utilize the Snowdrop engine

In addition to Star Wars, the team at Massive is also building a game built around the Avatar film franchise. The title was announced back in 2017, and development is still ongoing.
