At the Star Wars Celebration in Japan, EA announced Star Wars Zero Company, a turn-based strategy game a la XCOM releasing in 2026. The accompanying trailer is quite obvious in it being that genre, with sweeping and zooming views of holograms showing units deployed throughout what we know as a classic XCOM-style battlefield.

Meanwhile, a narrative over cinematic shots show a mixed team with two humans, two Mandalorians, an alien-looking Jedi, and a good ol’ droid buddy. Together, the narrative explains, they’re part of “the war beneath the war,” professional saboteurs and agents in the Clone Wars, closer to Rogue One in nature.

The main protagonist is Hawk, formerly of the Republic who leads the titular professionals for hire called Zero Company. The “uneasy allies” are tasked with taking on “an operation that pits them against an emerging threat that will consume the galaxy if left unchecked.”

According to the YouTube description, Star Wars Zero Company is slated for release in 2026 on PC, Playstation 5, and the Xbox Series X|S (with no word about Game Pass or PC platforms yet). Since the release of the trailer, a StarWars.com interview with some of the devs has also been posted.
