Tower of Fantasy continues to tease its next big update, The Dragon Grove, with a new video taking us on a brief tour of the new maps coming in the update.
The team previously shared the launch date for the new update, which will be September 5th, along with the reveal of the town of Joltville. Joltville is hidden in the mountains, and there’s much to the natural area surrounding it, from fog to a number of creatures that call the area home. In that intro video, we met Madame Huang, who introduced some of what we’ll see in the update.
Now, the latest tour is in the form of a video that outlines and names a number of the sights in the Joltville area. We start at the Joltville Dragon Pool. This is the water-filled area we saw in the original video, with giant dragon statues that the camera POV was sweeping over. We get an even better look at both the general area and the statue details too. Obviously, with an update title like The Dragon Grove, and the mention of Qinglong (the Azure Dragon in Chinese legend), the grand statues already seems quite important.
The next stop on our tour is the Crouching Tiger Cave, with the brief peek showing off what look like bioluminescent plants and other terrain to explore (maybe even new resources). Hidden Dragon Outpost looks like a guard tower and entrance, with distinct Eastern design influences mixed with Tower of Fantasy’s modern sci-fi touches.
Tianhe Bazaar is the market location, with beautiful flowering trees, bridges, and even some dragon-scale looking decor. Joltville is noted as being a trade center, so the market will matter. Purple Peak Valley features similar architecture, with trees, water, and mountains. There are a few other areas with trees and mountains, flowers, pagodas, and more features similar to the rest of the biome, with those fantasy and sci-fi touches as well.
Joltville Mansion looks like a big, explorable …mansion. Jade Garden and Clear Bamboo Court also feature the vegetation and water, with peaceful looking spaces.
The video is just a minute long, and ends with Huang with a large, round panda-looking critter, but it does give a good taste of the design, environments, and some things to ponder on the way to the update’s launch.
