Tower of Fantasy’s next big update, Song of the Sea, version 2.5, is coming May 11th. There’s a guide to the new mechanisms, including flexible difficulty, raid, and Joint Operation changes on the way.

New mechanics are coming to affect how you can play Tower of Fantasy. Dimension Level is essentially a difficulty setting. Instead of the mobs and bosses  being at your level, if you find some of them to be too tough a challenge, or you want more challenge, then you will be able to adjust their Dimension Level.

The power to adjust the difficulty of what you are facing is based on your power and your needs. If you lower it, the mobs you encounter and the world bosses will be easier to beat, but increasing the Dimension Level, if you are feeling confident, gives you more rewards.  With the new update introducing the feature, you’ll only be able to increase the level at first, until reducing it is added later.

Increasing it will unlock the password chest in the area you're in, which will up the drop rate of password chests and world boss accessories. You can also farm resources more efficiently with a higher yield by upping the Dimension Level.

Dimension levels are incremental, and it starts at level 10, with each phase being able to be increased or decreased by five levels. you'll see the current level on the right side of the map. Drop rate bonuses or reductions and other info will also be visible so you can make an informed decision.

Once the feature is fully available, flexible difficulty settings will be helpful for new players to get into Tower of Fantasy and adjust to all of its mechanics and mobs. This could include whenever you get new simulacra and you are getting the hang of their weapons and combat skills. Since you are lowering difficulty, expect lower rewards or even being gated out of some of them, like boss chests if you lower it too much. But it could help for practice and other reasons.

Also in the guide are changes to Joint Operations and Raids. For Joint Oprtations, everyone will have the same instance to challenge, rotating weekly, with choices including difficulty levels and reward preferences. Raids will also now rotate once a week, and it will be the same raid for all, with a limit of one attempt.
