The Tower of Fantasy team has a new letter to the community on the occasion of the first anniversary. The letter reflects on changes, promises more direct communication soon, and highlights some future changes on the way.
The team thanks the community for Tower of Fantasy’s success, saying “The voices of our Wanderers have allowed us to deeply understand your thoughts and to implement related optimizations in the game as soon as possible. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all of you for your continued support and encouragement, pushing us to constantly improve and innovate”. This is followed by the notice that even more letters from the devs to the community are on the way. “We will continue to carry out Dev's Reports and Letters to Wanderers communications,” the letter says, and this will begin August 24th.
Changes on the way cover a wide range of types and systems. The devs will continue to build the mentorship system and optimize it, tinkering with the right rewards balance for assisting other players. More UI changes are on the way, including to the world map, like color-coded visualization of the rarity of Star Gates directly on the world map, and eventually direct transmission to specified locations in casual gameplay so you'll be able to just go where you want to.
There changes to instances and gameplay experiences will get optimization passes, in addition to continued work to make the game less grindy overall. You'll also be able to start earning vehicle parts in the Overworld in Vera this means you'll be able to start getting those vehicle components in the very early part of the game.
The team noticed that world bosses were not getting enough competitors, so they're looking to retool some of the mechanics. After all server merges are complete, there will be a few convenient features as well. The team intends to support duplicate character names as well as include a global chat channel language filter where you can set all incoming messages to your own language settings.
There's a lot more in the letter, including details on additional upcoming features and changes.
