Torchlight: Infinite’s next season, Whispering Mist, opens this week and the team revealed tons of details about the “Cthulu-style season” with roguelike gameplay.
At the heart of a mysterious fog is the town of Mistville, which was once a quaint little stop, but is now a dangerous place to encounter the residents, who put you at risk of infection once you make your way into the Netherrealm. As you get further into the mists, you'll explore new zones, take advantage of some new power-ups, and accept some new challenges.
You'll have to use lanterns that you obtain as you go down the street to maintain your sanity as you explore the town and uncover some of its secrets. In addition to the residents, there are Mist Monsters to keep you busy. If you make your way through the foggy streets, you'll be able to investigate and go deeper into the mysteries, and possibly take advantage of adjustments to skill slots and even some new Legendary gear.
The update will also bring Clock Tower challenges and Activation Mediums. The Clock Tower challenges are one way you can be rewarded. The Activation Medium system is a new feature That helps trigger abilities and synergies with some of the skills and also helps simplify gameplay for mobile players.
Cateeye Erika also gets a new hero trait this coming season: Lightning Shadow. This gives her fast movement and great damage when she can use this electrifying trait. Golden Season Pass owners will unlock this trait for permanent use.
Divine Might Trials is a new endgame mode for those seeking ever greater challenges. To participate, you'll have to collect Divine Might Emblems from the six gods to show you’re worthy. Emerge victorious in the challenge and earn Divine Might Luminous Stones to exchange for rare loot–Gifts from the Gods items–from Spacetime Wanderer’s.
