Torchlight: Infinite’s latest season, The Frozen Canvas, is here, along with the first shapeshifting hero, Selena, and a ton of overhauls.
The update takes us to the Netherrealm, and in season 6, it is covered in ice. The update also introduces new high level bosses, new challenges, a skill revamp, and even overhauled monetization and free access to all past Heroes this season. The monthly pass has been discontinued. And season pass quests that were gated are now all open at once, so you just need to level to 50 to get all of the monthly prizes.
The canvas of the title comes to life as you get to enjoy a new mechanic that is centered around painting. As you adventure, collect Snowpaper Fragments and magic paints. Then, use them to create custom maps. These paintings will come to life and you will step into these new landscapes and battle for some new rewards. you can also use color combinations to complete objectives, find hidden treasure, and more to discover.
The art of shapeshifting is the tagline for the new hero, Selena. She has two forms to discover. In Bard form, she'll be a reliable support who can help channel spells as well as slow enemies or attack them from range. In Loud Song mode, she's a lot less mobile with a speed nerf, but her attacks become more devastating.
The new season also adds more than 100 new support skills to enhance abilities, add new effects, and also to add additional customization for active skills and greater build diversity.
XD has also removed legendary gear crafting in favor of additional options, And a focus on non-legendary gear with more predictable outcomes so that you get the things you want and have more control over customization.
Torchlight: Infinite Season 6 represents the biggest overhaul to the game ever. It looks like there's a lot to discover whether you are a past player or starting for the first time.
