XD has announced that Torchlight: Infinite’s next season, “The Frozen Canvas”, is coming October 24th.
The cross-platform ARPG's season announcement came along with a teaser hinting at the new content on the way. The team will hold a special livestream to fully announce the update on October 11th, but they did offer a few details on the update. There is a brand new hero, who we briefly see in the teaser. Selena is a Wide Whisperer and a “colorful new musician who can shift between two incredibly powerful forms for devastating effect”. Now it's time to speculate on just what those forms might be.
The update will also take us to a frozen Netherrealm as the latest explorable new zone, offer new skills to potentially add to your arsenal, and more in what they’re touting as a blend of artistry and combat. This holds true for Selena, so we’ll have to see more when they reveal the full update details.
Torchlight: Infinite’s new season also promises a major crafting overhaul, new boss battles, and again, an emphasis on creativity. It does seem that XD is looking to include artistic elements, and with that frozen Netherrealm and a title that includes the word “canvas”, it’s in the details already.
The reveal live stream will be on the Torchlight: Infinite Twitch and YouTube channels on October 11th at 7 am PDT, where the team will dive into all of the major details, including The season's new storyline, skills, those boss battles, and of course additional improvements like that crafting overhaul to come.
