Last Oasis is a go on Season 6, but first, there will be a lengthy, in-depth test before the update and new back to PvP focused season go live.
The servers are down for maintenance and the update is expected to go live tomorrow at around 2:00 p.m. Eastern. This is the final Season 6 test and will be available on PC and Xbox for an estimated 5-8 weeks. They’re taking their time on this one to make sure everything is ready and that the new season feels right after the team’s previous overhauls and revamps were widely criticized and attention dropped off.
Then the team fell silent for quite a while before pledging an intent to deliver a refined future for a once-again PvP-focused Last Oasis, “a skill-based directional melee full loot MMO survival game”. The new announcement goes over some of what we can expect in Season 6, Chapter 1 (a wipe is planned at the end of the 8-week seasons). PvE tiles are gone, but there are protected trade zones and timers for interaction.
The lobby is back, and the walker is at the center of things. There are new POIs and event maps that encourage you to use your walkers spontaneously, in addition to taking risks for new rewards. Hardpoints are gone, so you can build anywhere on the walker. There are also a number of balance changes and overhauls we'll see tomorrow when the update is out.
