We have had yet another posting of sensitive military documents on the War Thunder forums recently. It's safe to say, everybody’s favorite gaming tradition (unless you’re a military weapons facility) has returned just in time for the holiday season. War Thunder military spec leaks aren’t anything new, which is a wild thing to be able to say about a video game. However, it seems people are serious about the correct specifications of their favorite virtual military wartime vehicles.
This time, we have a few pages out of the specification documents for the M2 Bradley, also known as the Bradley IFV, an American infantry tank. The leaks were primarily to address the assembly of the hatch and the turret, though with these being spec docs, they’re basically specific to the inch.
In the latter case, at least it’s not classified, but it’s considered “sensitive.” It seems even the War Thunder team is aware of the breadth of this specific leak.
“As far as we know, this particular leak did not appear on War Thunder forums first,” Gaijin Entertainment founder Anton Yudintsev told military news site Task and Purpose. “It was published online on December 8th or even earlier and has been spreading on various platforms for days until it landed on War Thunder forums. While we did our part in helping to limit the leak spreading further by deleting that post, we can do nothing with what’s happening on other platforms.”
War Thunder is a free-to-play MMO military simulator game for all “PC” platforms, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S that considers itself the “most comprehensive” of its kind, with “over 2,500 highly detailed aircraft, helicopters, ground vehicles, warships and other combat vehicles crafted carefully from historical documents and surviving sources,” according to its site. It seems the military history enjoyers are constantly willing to fight Gaijin Entertainment on these claims, though.
