Throne and Liberty is getting its eighth weapon next week, the Spear. The new weapon got an in-depth reveal with info on spear skills, strategies, and what to look forward to.
The spear will be out on December 5th. Looking to charge into your enemies but also make quick work of them by exploiting their weaknesses, in addition to some crowd control potential? The spear may be something to look into.
Skills include Gale Rush, a powerful gap closer that lets you dash your target and strike an enemy while gaining increased attack speed. However, if your target is an ally, you'll protect them by sweeping around and stunning enemies you hit. If enemies are stunned, sleeping, or feared, the cooldown on Gale Rush resets, making this ideal for helping someone out, stunning those enemies, then striking again.
Skills like Flash Barrier let you dodge projectiles and strike back with area damage. Smash Blade temporarily disables enemy defensive skills, while Brand Javelin, is a chargeable skill that lets you mark enemies and amplify crit rates and damage. The spear skills offer a series of debuffs or through the use of offensive passives, let you chain together a series of quick attacks that make you deadly, able to control a crowd, and able to escape.
Some of those passives are named things like Sadist’s Rage, Power Intensification, and Deadly Decisive Strike. The first gives you a chance at increased magic, melee, and ranged heavy attack chance when you take skill damage. The second increases your attack speed when Weaken lands. The third lets you deal extra critical hit damage to enemies with low health. It's your job to bring about those particular circumstances, but you can see how you might put together a build that serves those who want to be deadly and fast.
Essentially, this is a weapon that benefits from someone who is versatile and can play both aggressive and strategic characters. Or both at the same time, since the spear will suit that flexibility.
