After a long wait, Throne and Liberty is finally live here in the West, thanks to Amazon's paid early access.
The MMORPG from NCSOFT went live today at 10 am PDT/1 pm EDT (which is now), letting those who paid for the early access perks to hop into the world of Solisium ahead of the official October 1st launch. Since it's a free-to-play MMORPG, one of the major ways to sell these higher tiers of access was through the head start launch, so it'll be interesting to see how many people forked over their hard-earned cash for this, or how many are just waiting till next week.
Either way, there should be plenty to do in Throne and Liberty, assuming there aren't the usual server hiccups and more, from its guild battles, dungeons, and much more. Amazon has even laid out its full roadmap for the next few months for all to see, promising more content, improvements and more as Throne and Liberty moves on from launch.
While Throne and Liberty has been out in Korea for a while now, the game Amazon is publishing globally is quite a bit different, tweaked in order to cater to a more global audience. We spoke with Amazon's Globalization Design Manager earlier this week to see how this all came to be, which could be an interesting read if you're stuck in a server queue.
This also marks the first time Amazon is publishing an MMO not just in PC but also Xbox Series S|X and PlayStation 5, which will be good insight to have as it preps New World: Aeternum's console launch just a few weeks later.
