Amazon is publishing another MMORPG, this time NCSoft's upcoming next-gen MMO, Throne and Liberty.

Amazon Games and NCsoft have reached an agreement that will see Amazon publish Throne and Libety across North America, South America, Europe and Japan. Throne and Liberty is slated to release later this year across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S|X.

Amazon Games is ramping things up on its publishing business, with it recently announcing Blue Protocol in its publishing catalog, alongside Lost Ark and the next Tomb Raider title from developer Crystal Dynamics. This is in addition to the company self-publishing its own MMORPG, New World

For its part, NCSoft isn't a stranger to Western publishing, as it publishes Guild Wars 2AIONBlade & Soul and more. Throne and Liberty will be NCSoft's first major MMO released across the globe with an external publisher, according to this morning's press release. One of the reasons detailed by principal development management office at NCSoft Moonyoung Choi was Amazon's emergence as one of the "most reliable partners for publishing massive live-service games globally."

"Amazon Games is one of the most reliable partners for publishing massive live-service games globally, with proven expertise in operations, localization, marketing and community support."

Throne and Liberty is due out in 2023 and features a vast world to explore alongside an action-packed story. An action combat MMORPG, Throne and Liberty will feature both massive PvE and PvP content for players in a world where "constantly shifting geographical and environmental features" can change how the MMO plays.

We're looking forward to Throne and Liberty ourselves here, and Kanishka feels it could be the big next-gen MMO launch for this year. We'll hopefully see more this year as NCSoft and Amazon start to peel back the veil for this hotly anticipated MMORPG.
