Throne and Liberty Takes Us Behind the Scenes of Wilds of Talandre's New Locations

Now that Wilds of Talandre has been out for a bit, the Throne and Liberty team is taking us through inspirations and ideas behind creation of the expansion’s new places and environments.

The expansion update doubled the size of Solisium from the launch release, and when NCSoft created the new content, they spent time creating concepts for what they needed to add to the world in the big update.  

The full devblog has descriptions of the areas and screenshots showing these particular elements in their final form. For Herba Village, the team was inspired by modern cable cars to put a medieval twist on them in the wind car routes. Not only did they want to offer a transportation option, but the open-air views of Talandre was something they wanted to offer.

For Bercant Mansion, the mission was to make it feel like the home of a powerful noble faction. The team was inspired by the exterior of the Louvre in Paris and created something that prioritized style versus historical accuracy. Interiors were driven by the mechanics and story that took place within.
